Message from the President
Serving as GADA’s President during 2023-2025 is an honor! Each year brings with it new challenges and new hopes! Whether it is higher education, teacher education, or P-12 teaching, change is the only constant, and we continue to adapt and respond to the various changes that are happening within our context as well as nationally. Assessment work is key to collecting valuable information for teacher preparation as well as EPP accountability for program approval and accreditation. As a community, we have shared innovative practices with one another in the past, collaborated at the state level to develop valid and reliable assessment rubrics, and developed a strong support network necessary for professional and personal growth of all assessment directors in various Georgia EPPs. Over the past 14 years, I have come to cherish this association with other Georgia assessment directors and benefit from this wonderful and supportive community.
The GADA Executive Board has a strong desire to continue to meet the needs of the membership by facilitating meeting content that is timely and relevant to your current efforts. We will also continue to meet your needs by offering both online and in-person meeting options for the upcoming GADA meetings. Our in-person meetings will be in collaboration with GACTE and this fall’s GADA meeting will be held on October 27, 2023 in Peachtree City.
As always, we want to address the immediate needs of the assessment community in Georgia and are open to ideas of interest from the membership. To stay current with the times, address policy updates, and remain committed to vision of meeting needs of our teacher candidates, P-12 partners, and students, we will be organizing various opportunities this year to learn from one another, to develop meaningful practices for assessment and continuous improvement.
Please feel free to reach out to me at rbhatnagar@gsu.edu if you have any questions or ideas. I look forward to discovering what this year will bring and to working on behalf of this wonderful organization! We truly value your on-going support and engagement with GADA!

GADA President 2023-2025
